Duck Creek VFW Post 7534 has announced the schedule of events for this year’s Memorial Day on Monday, May 31st. The theme for this year’s event is “United We Stand”.
The day will start off at 8:00 a.m. with a Memorial Day ceremony at Memorial Park located at 754 Riverview Drive in Howard. Then followed at 9:00 a.m. with a ceremony at St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery located at 1198 Pinecrest Road in Howard.
At 10:00 a.m. on Memorial Day, the Memorial Day Parade will commence from St. John the Baptist Church located at 2597 Glendale Avenue. The parade route will enter on to Cardinal Land, proceeding north to Glendale Avenue to Velp Avenue and then southeast on Velp Avenue to Riverview Drive. The parade ends at the intersection of Velp Avenue and Riverview Drive.
Then at 11:00 a.m., there will be a ceremony at the conclusion of the parade by the Veterans of Foreign Wars at the Duck Creek Cemetery, located at Velp Avenue and Riverview Drive to honor our nation’s fallen.
