The Howard Suamico Lions Club is proud to announce the winner of its annual Community Service Award to be Yvonne Lemerond.
The award was presented to Yvonne at the Howard VFW Post 7534 on Wednesday, September 16th.
Yvonne exemplifies community service for her many years of volunteering on village blood drives, all VFW brat fries and other VFW fund raising events. She also has held poppy drives to raise funds for disabled veterans.
By her own count, Yvonne has been contributing of herself for 49 years.
This award is presented annually to a resident of Howard-Suamico who has helped enrich the quality of life in our community through a pattern of significant contributions. These contributions can be in the form of volunteerism, activity in community organizations, monetary donations to community causes, and organizing community events.
The goal of this Service Award is to highlight the contributions of people who have helped make Howard Suamico an attractive and nourishing place to live and raise a family.
