The Howard-Suamico Historical Society will hold its general membership meeting on Thursday, October 7th, at Lifebridge Church located at 2496 Glendale Avenue in Howard. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. The speaker for the evening will be Joann Rathburn who is scheduled to do a presentation on “First Grade in a One Room School’” as a tribute to teachers. This is open to all society members and the general public. Admission is free and light snacks will be served.
On Wednesday, October 20th from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., the society will hold its last open house of the year at the Ancestry Acres site located at 12787 Velp Avenue in Suamico. Open will be the farmhouse, granary and barn. The Howard-Suamico Historical Society is currently fund raising to add a one room school — Tremble, to the property. The HSHS is currently looking for any pictures of the school, students or teachers who attended there. Contact Barb at (920) 434-0525 if you have anything.
Also on Wednesday, October 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Ancestry Acres, there will be a drive through trick-or-treat and pumpkin painting. Please join the HSHS for a ghoulish evening.
