Alice’s Greenhouse, formerly known as Bonnie’s Greenhouse, located at 4040 Velp Avenue in Howard is now under the full ownership of Steve Mayefske.
In 2017, Steve Mayefske took on full ownership of the business and wished to rebrand. He felt something was missing, and took this opportunity to make the greenhouse even more special. Mayefske felt there was no better way to fuse two very important parts of his life into one. Mayefske’s mother’s appreciation for others and his passion for flowers, together he offers to you, Alice’s Greenhouse.
After 35 years in the business, he has gotten to know many customers, many of whom he has become close friends with, and know what they want. Alice’s Greenhouse is a locally owned neighborhood greenhouse, in Howard. They are not a big box store that ships in mystery flowers, and tries to sell you an inferior product which may not last. Their flowers are locally grown at Alice’s Greenhouse, so they know, they will last at your home as well.
Alice’s Greenhouse have seven greenhouses with over 1,400 baskets, bedding plants and a large variety of vegetables. They always have gift certificates available and continue to carry Purple Cow Organics Products.
Alice’s Greenhouse is celebrating their Grand Opening on May 5th and 6th with complimentary coffee and cookies. On Mother’s Day, May 13th, they are featuring the operatic voice of Leah Wons between 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., along with complimentary coffee and cookies as well.
