The Power Of Dance made history in 2018 by being the largest and most diverse set of athletes ever to qualify for the Dance Worlds from the state of Wisconsin. The Dance Worlds—a 5 day event that was held in spring, is an elite competition showcasing athletes from around the World and is often referred to as the “Olympics Of Dance.”
Over 40 countries and over 6,000 dancers competed at the 2018 Dance Worlds at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
The Power Of Dance earned 7 bids in 6 categories for the competition including Senior Small Pom, Senior Large Pom, Senior Large Jazz, Senior Contemporary/Lyrical, Senior Large Co-ed Hip Hop and Senior Small Co-ed Hip Hop. A total of 38 dancers competed with the POD representing the USA at the Dance Worlds.
Four of the seven teams made it to the finals with the best finish coming from the Senior Large Co-ed Hip Hop finishing 4th by just 1/10 of a point away from the bronze metal.
Congratulations to the teams and a huge thank you to all the businesses and individuals that helped make the teams’ trip to Worlds possible. The Power Of Dance Academy program is currently registering for fall classes. This is a non-competitive dance program for ages 2-adult.
