Last week, tiny travelers took a big journey during Dreamworld Discovery Camp at Power of Dance. Designed especially for preschoolers, this four-day morning camp gave little learners the chance to explore, move, create, and imagine — all while learning about the world around them.
Campers started each morning gathered around a globe, discovering where in the world their adventure would take them that day. From the depths of the ocean to the snowy Arctic, each day highlighted a different climate and the living things — animals, plants, and people — found there.
Each session featured a mix of warm-ups, body awareness activities, imaginative play, storytelling, science and problem-solving, gross and fine motor skills, arts and crafts, and of course — plenty of dancing!
On Monday, campers visited the jungle and crept through a scavenger hunt, danced like hip-hop jungle animals, and navigated a tricky “Avoid the Vine” laser maze. Tuesday was all about the oceans, so little scientists tested which objects float, created tin foil boats, and counted how many domino “people” each could hold. Ocean yoga and a rainbow fish craft rounded out this exciting underwater day.
The Arctic Tundra was Wednesday’s destination. Campers created a blizzard with a parachute and snowballs, raced through an Arctic obstacle course, and crafted their own polar bears. The week wrapped up close to home, with “Wisconsin Day” on Thursday. Campers learned about how plants grow, planted their own to take home, and had a blast with the “Farm Food Obstacle Challenge” before making an “Incredible Me” craft to celebrate themselves.
All of the campers who attended had a blast and parent Aria Heim shared, “This camp was the perfect balance of structured fun and free exploration. It gave my daughter a safe, inspiring space to grow socially and creatively.”
Power of Dance offers preschool classes year-round that blend movement, music, and imagination — just like this camp. Their 4-week summer session begins July 7, and fall classes start September 2. Visit powerofdance.com for more information or to register and let your child’s next adventure begin.
