The Candy Bar, located at 2490 Lineville Road Suite B in Suamico, features a variety of fine homemade chocolate candies. Jerry and Kaye Hughes met at a rodeo in 1964, him a bull rider her a barrel racer and rodeo queen. Their love of chocolates drew them to learn the art of candy making in the 1980’s. Since then they’ve been making caramel, fudge, brittles, toffee and hand dipped chocolates.
The Hughes’recipes are tried and true and reflect the time-honored tradition of their family who first cultivated this divine delicacy. Everything in their Suamico store is handmade and their made-from-scratch caramel recipe is over 150 years old. It is now a family business with their children and grandchildren all making the candy side-by-side with Jerry and Kaye Hughes.
With their move to the Suamico location, they have added an entire wall dedicated to retro and novelty candies. They are sure there is an old time favorite here that will bring back fond memories for you. If you don’t find something you remember just ask them and they will do their best to find it for you.
They hand dip all of their chocolates and cook everything on-site at The Candy Bar. Visitors can observe them making candy through their viewing window. They do custom molded chocolates for everyday and special occasions as well. At The Candy Bar, they hope to create a sweet moment for you one bite at a time.
