Shop Howard-Suamico First!

Design a la mode, located at 1744 Riverside Drive in Suamico has expanded, yet again! Heading into their 15th year of business, it was time for their 4th expansion. That’s great news in these trying times. The space next door opened up and they saw an opportunity.

The newly redesigned area is open and ready to shop. The new space features Grey Dog Textile Company — a division of design a la mode — a business that was located across the street a few years ago which now is currently Ashtanga Yoga Studio. The textile area houses window treatments and blinds, rugs, bedding, fabrics for reupholstery and so much more. “We are one business, catering to all of your interior design needs, under one roof, just a little bigger now,” says Sheri Worth, owner.

Design a la mode started in Vickery Village in 2006 in the Town Hall building. In 2012, a new building was built across from Chives restaurant attached to the Old Suamico Bank which is currently Spork Café and Catering and tripled the space of their humble beginnings. A mere five years later in 2017, yet another building was built right next door, sharing the parking lot. Again they nearly tripled in size. And here they are, four years later expanding again. “We are so blessed to feel such a need in this community, so much love and appreciate how many people value shopping local” says Worth. “This is our home and we have been so lucky to be able to stay right where we started as we grow to accommodate the needs of our local customers!”

Design a la mode carries all types of furniture, for every room in the home. As for upholstered furniture, they are proud to carry mainly Made in the USA custom furniture. The extra space will allow them to feature more furniture, which is available to order or purchase what is in stock. The shipping industry has drastically changed throughout the pandemic, and shipping times on furniture have been greatly delayed. Having extra space will allow extra furniture as an everyday item that you can walk in and purchase as shown on their floor. “We are trying to keep up with the changing times and needs of our customers,” Worth explains.
Design a la mode is open Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Stop in soon to see the expansion and everything this local business has to offer.
