The Howard-Suamico Historical Society will hold a Memories Show on Saturday, February 26th, to celebrate 14 years of memories shows. The show will be held at the Weyers-Hilliard Library at 1:00 p.m. with over 75 photos shown from the HSHS collection of over 6,500 photos.
New photos are always welcome and will be scanned and returned the same day. The library is at 2680 Riverview Drive in Howard. The event is open to the public and suitable for all ages. Light refreshments will be served.
Donations are also being accepted to cover the cost of moving Tremble School to a new location at Ancestry Acres.
In 1915, a special meeting was held to consider building a one room school on the corner of County B and Riverside Drive. The purchase of the land from Henry Fletcher was $200, with the materials for construction being $3,200.
The school held its’ first classes on the first Tuesday of September, 1917…and the rest is history.
