The Howard-Suamico Historical Society will hold its’ semi-annual Used Book Sale on Thursday, August 3rd from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday, August 4th, from 8:00 am to 2:00 p.m. The sale will be held at 12787 Velp Avenue in the barn. Books on tape, soft and hard cover books, games, CDs, DVDs, games and puzzles can still be donated at Kimps Ace Hardware (Howard location) and the Suamico Village Hall.
Scholarship committee chairman Nancy O’Kelley has announced the 2023 winner of the HSHS $1,000 scholarship to be Kyla Hendricks. Her winning essay was on the History of Suamico.
On Thursday, August 10th, the general membership meeting will be held at Ancestry Acres, 12787 Velp Avenue at 7:00 p.m. and will feature guest historian Joanne Rathburn speaking on how it was to go to a one room school. This presentation will be in Tremble School and is open to all members and the general public.
