The Howard-Suamico Optimist Club Appreciation and Awards lunch was held on Tuesday, May 31st at 1951 West.
Congratulations goes out to the following winners from Bay Port High School.

Morgan Beyer, took 1st place and was awarded $250 for the essay contest based on the theme of “How Does an Optimistic Mindset Change My Tomorrow?” William Schlueter claimed 2nd place and Andrew Atnip took 3rd place in th eessay contest.

Sylvia VanDenPlas, claimed 1st place and was awarded $250 for the oratorical contest based on the theme “Staying Optimistic in Changing Times”. In addition, she won a $2,500 scholarship and will be going to the International contest in St. Louis, Missouri for a chance at winning additional scholarship funds. Sylvia Lewis claimed 2nd place and Emma Dessire took 3rd place in the oratorical contest.
