The Howard-Suamico Business and Professional Association is on a mission to support career and college focused educational opportunities for our area students. Through the proceeds from this year’s Casino Night fundraiser sponsored by Kimps Ace Hardware, the HSBPA will continue to support that mission.

Join the HSBPA on Wednesday, March 13th at The Duck Blind at Olde 41 Banquet Facility located at 1966 Velp Avenue in Howard from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for a night of games, glitz, and giving back to education. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Academic and Career Planning program, which is a joint initiative of the HSBPA and the Howard-Suamico School District. Additional proceeds from the event will also benefit The Giving Tree.

HSBPA Board members are working hard to rally the community towards the HSBPA’s goal of enhancing educational experiences for area students. The HSBPA is currently seeking support for the event through contributions of silent auction items, basket raffle items, and hors d’oeuvres, desserts, or refreshments. Silent auction items and basket raffle items can be dropped off at North Shore Bank located at 1838 Cardinal Lane in Suamico during normal business hours.

Michell Bartlein, HSBPA President stated, “As a parent, it takes a community to raise a child and provide a nurturing environment of opportunities, guidance, and skills to launch into the big, wide world after graduation. As a local business owner, it’s our desire to support those opportunities.” Please visit hsbpa.org/casino-night for additional ways to back HSBPA’s mission of enhancing career and college focused opportunities.

Tickets for HSBPA’s Casino Night are $25 each at the door of the event. Businesses and individuals supporting this year’s Casino Night fundraiser for education will be recognized for their contribution. With the support and generosity of area businesses and individuals, last year’s event supported local students with over $10,000 towards their educational goals.

ACP and The Giving Tree
The Academic and Career Planning or ACP offers customized educational experiences for students as they plan for their future. ACP is a student-driven, adult-supported process in which students create and cultivate their own unique and information-based visions for post-secondary success, obtained through self-exploration, career exploration, and the development of career management and planning skills.

Students at Bay View Middle School explore career options that match their personalities, skills, interests, and values. Students use Xello, an engaging college and career readiness platform, to open their eyes to career possibilities. Offerings include College and Career Readiness class, which is a curriculum designed with nationally accredited NGPF curriculum and EVERFI simulations. Also, an elective 8th grade Personal Finance class.

Bay Port High School students are enriched through the ACP program with the support from school counselors and Bay Port staff members. A few of the benefits of the ACP program at Bay Port include robust career and technical education course offerings, dual credit options with area colleges, multiple advanced placement courses, international baccalaureate opportunities, preparation for ACT Aspire and ACT test, and support with college admission essays.

Funds raised from the basket raffles at Casino Night will be conducted by and support The Giving Tree in their mission to provide equitable access to food, shelter, transportation, and resources for students and families in the Howard-Suamico School District. The vision of The Giving Tree is to have an education without barriers.
