For three consecutive years, Power of Dance studio has supported Feed My Starving Children by organizing teams of volunteers to help with their local MobilePack event. This year was their largest turnout ever, with 81 volunteers working over the course of three days in early October. Of those volunteers, 51 were students from their Academy and All-Star programs, ranging in age from six to eighteen.
Parents, grandparents, siblings and neighbors pitched in as well. Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a Christian nonprofit organization that seeks to reduce world hunger by distributing nutritious meals to children around the globe. At the MobilePack event held at Green Bay Community Church, volunteers packed a total of almost 160,000 meals, which will feed 436 children one meal per day for a year.
Many of the studio’s families participate in this event year after year. Ashley Pamperin-Sexauer, mom to dancer Abby, says that they look forward to this event every year. “Not only is it an opportunity for us to act on our compassion for this organization, but an opportunity to come together with our POD community and realize how big of an impact we can make in a mere two hours that often feels like a dance party that in the end helps feed hundreds of kids!”
Power of Dance studio is located just off of Lineville and Velp in Suamico and is dedicated to not only developing great dancers, but also helping their dancers develop into great people by encouraging teamwork and compassion.
