The Power Of Dance Senior All Stars make history once again by receiving 6 bids to the 2023 USASF Dance Worlds Championship at Disney World in Orlando Florida. The teams – made up of 18 dancers in grades 6-12 – will travel to Orlando on April 19 for the biggest competition in All-Star Dance.

The teams from the POD have battled all year to earn “bids” to compete in one of 5 styles of dance showcased at the event. And once again, the Power Of Dance, representing not only Wisconsin, but the United States, will be the only team to have earned bids in all 5 styles: Pom, Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary/Lyrical and Kick. This marks the Power Of Dance’s 12th consecutive year representing the USA at the Dance Worlds.

Teams from over 40 countries come together to showcase their best including teams from Japan, Mexico, England, Poland, Australia, France, Germany, Columbia, Brazil, Chili, and more. The Power Of Dance received bids in Senior Small Pom, Senior Small Jazz, Senior Small Coed Hip Hop, Senior Small Contemporary/Lyrical, Senior Kick, and Open Contemporary Lyrical. “Small” refers to team size – a team consisting of 14 or less dancers taking the floor at a time. “Senior” refers to teams consisting of dancers ages 13-18. “Open” refers to teams consisting of dancers ages 15 and older (including adults).

Not all dancers from the POD dance on each of the 6 teams. An additional congratulations goes out to 5 year Senior All Star dancer Nicholas Powers for being named a top 15 finalist for the USASF National All Star Scholarship. Scholarship applicants submitted a resume, transcript, essay, letters of recommendation, and a solo performance to the scholarship committee.

Finalists will be interviewed at the Dance Worlds before making the final selection. Good luck to Nicholas.
