Recently, students at Forest Glen Elementary organized a school-wide “penny war” to raise funds to help support Water for South Sudan, an organization that provides clean, safe water to those in need in South Sudan.
Students and teachers stopped by North Shore Bank’s branch each day to tally results using the self-service coin counters.
By the end of the week, Forest Glen Elementary had raised a total of $7,679.62, enough money to fund half of a water well in South Sudan. North Shore Bank is thrilled to have played a role in supporting Forest Glen Elementary in their fundraising efforts for such an important cause.
