Over 400 riders and passengers participated in the 15th Annual Jerry Parins “Cruise for Cancer” ride that supported cancer families in our area. All the money raised will be donated to our local hospitals and cancer foundations.
This year they honored three families that road among the bikes in cars donated by Broadway Chevrolet.
The ride departed Vandervest Harley-Davidson of Green Bay and stopped at Copperfest in Oconto for lunch. The fundraiser continued on In the afternoon at Vandervest’s banquet facility where numerous bucket raffles and a live auction took place. Food was supplied by Festival Foods, Stodola’s IGA, LaJava and Pepsi Cola with all proceeds being donated to the Jerry Parin’s “Cruise for Cancer” Foundation.
Members of the Packerland Harley’s Owner Group volunteered their time to help run the event along with Packer personnel.
Members of the Chapter also collected pledges before the ride.
Top pledge members included Jim Stallard-—$12,085, Rick Harnowski—$11,675, Lynn Vandervest—$1,950 and Deb Damro—$1,200. An estimated $120,000 was raised this year as more donations are coming in.
