The second annual Lions Community Service Award dinner was held Tuesday, April 17th, at River’s Bend. The award is presented to a person who has given back to our community with a pattern of service that has enriched the lives of the people who live here.

This year the Community Service Award was presented to Harold Pfotenhauer.
Mr. Pfotenhauer’s contributions are many and have significantly helped raise the quality of life in our community. Harold and his wife, Geraldine, were founders of the Howard-Suamico Rescue Squad. He also help found the Howard-Suamico Business and Professional Association and the American Legion Suburban Green Bay Post where he currently presides as the post commander. Harold is also a charter member of the H-S Optimist Club, member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree, member of the Retired Men’s Club Green Bay, Green Bay Community Service Club, and serves on the Brown County Health Department Board of Directors.

In addition to those contributions, Mr Pfotenhauer has served as the Treasurer of the United Way Board of Directors, the Board of Directors of the Packer Hall of Fame and is a member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.

A long time business man in Howard-Suamico, Mr Pfotenhauer has operated the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home bringing compassionate service to many during their time of loss.

Harold and his wife, Geraldine, have six children, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

When you see Harold please congratulate him for receiving this award and thank him for his many years of selfless service to our community.
