On Saturday, June 23, the Howard-Suamico Lions Club conducted their semi-annual White Cane Drive to raise money for their prevention of blindness campaign. Lions manned four locations including Kwik Trip locations on Cardinal Lane and Shawano Avenue, and Lineville Road and Olson’s Piggly Wiggly. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community $545 was raised in just 4 hours.
Volunteers included Lions’ members Mark Minzlaff, Tina DeBeck, Tammy Welles, Pat Harvey, Tom Tondryk, John Myers, and coordinators Bob DeBeck and Ken Angel. In addition, 250 brochures on diabetes awareness were handed out.
The Lions would like to thank their partners at Kwik Trip and Olson’s Piggly Wiggly for providing the Lions with the locations for the White Cane Drive.
