Hogs for Heroes has gifted their 35th Harley and the freedom of the road to Wisconsin Army National Guard Veteran Corporal Derek Gagne of Seymour who is a two-time Purple Heart Veteran.
The Presentation of Keys Ceremony was held at Vandervest Harley-Davidson, located at 1966 Velp Avenue in Howard. With a Harley-Davidson as the tool to assist in their healing, the gift from Hogs For Heroes returns the therapeutic benefits of riding, a passion and the supportive camaraderie of the rider community. This Wisconsin-only nonprofit goal of gifting one Harley a year, thereby changing one life a year. This gifting marks the 35th injured WI Veteran that Hogs For Heroes has supported in the seventh year of returning freedom to those who fought for ours. A BBQ was provided by the Vandervest Family to Support Hogs For Heroes where a $1,000 check was presented.
This bike will roll out with full sponsorship credit to Wisconsin’s International Union of Operating Engineers Local 139, making this the fifth Harley and Veteran pairing they’ve made possible. Hogs For Heroes is a 501(c)(3) Wisconsin-only nonprofit and we raise funds to buy Harleys for injured Wisconsin Veteran riders whose healing would benefit from returning to motorcycling. Each gifting is fueled simply by donations and 100% of every dollar donated will buy nothing but motorcycle for their next bike and veteran pairing.
