On Monday, June 19, recipients were presented checks totaling $152,000 from the donations made to the Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer Foundation in 2022. This was a kickoff campaign to this year’s ride that was held on Sunday, June 25. This year’s recipients included Ribbon of Hope, CRLS/Ovarian Cancer, Bellin Cancer Center, Colten’s Cure, St. Vincent Child Life, St. Vincent Cancer Center, Unity Hospice, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Bellin Child Life and HSHS St. Mary’s/St. Vincent.
This is the 20th anniversary year for the Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer ride. Over $2,500,000 has been donated in 20 years. Money is raised at the ride organized by Vandervest Harley-Davidson, the Packerland Harley’s Owner Group and Jerry Parins. The Drift Inn-De Pere also contributes to the foundation from their Chili/Burger Event which is held in the fall. The Green Bay Packer Organization has supported the foundation since the ride began.
Packerland HOG Chapter members collect pledges that get turned in the morning of the ride. Jim Stallard from Green Bay, a Packerland HOG Chapter Member, has been the top pledge winner since 2011 and collected $129,467.00 in pledges since 2011. Numerous businesses have donated beautiful gift baskets, gift cards and money. This year’s event was held Sunday, June 25.
