On Saturday, December 7, Power of Dance studio packed the Bay View Middle School gym with over 500 family, friends and fans who came to support their competition teams as well as a great local cause. Since 2015, the studio has held a showcase for their All Star competitive program –— this year made of eight teams, including over 100 dancers ranging in age from 6 to 17. For most groups, this was their first performance of the season, as they gear up for competitions to begin in early 2025. Performing at a showcase allows coaches to see the routines on a larger scale and lets dancers perform for the first time in front of a familiar audience.

While the Showcase is a great opportunity for the team dancers, the studio primarily sees it as a way that they can give back to the community. Admission to the Showcase was a donation to The Giving Tree pantry, and the studio collected nearly 1600 pounds of food this year. In addition, they were able to present a check for $1000 to the pantry – those funds came from cash donations at the event, POD staff who donated their hours, and a contribution from the studio itself.

Studio co-owner Theresa Perenick says, “The Showcase is an event the Power of Dance looks forward to every year as it shows what our community can accomplish when we come together.” Power of Dance would like to thank everyone who came out to support their dancers and The Giving Tree, and they hope to grow their audience each year.

Power of Dance studio is located just off of Lineville Road and Velp Avenue in Suamico, and is dedicated to not only developing great dancers, but also helping their dancers develop into great people by encouraging compassion and service. The studio’s recreational dance program is still welcoming students of all ages to join them for the 2024-25 season.
