Tanya Robinson – Head Ballet Instructor and All Star Dance Team Coach at the Power Of Dance – was named 2018 National Dance Coach of the Year at Dance Xtreme’s (DX) Americup International Dance Competition in Minneapolis on March 3rd.

In description of the honor, DX states “Since 1992, DX has strived to recognize coaches who inspire dancers to excel to his or her fullest potential, is an example of integrity for others to emulate, respects others in the dance industry, and conducts his or herself with exemplary professionalism with the Dance Coach of the Year honor. “  Coaches are nominated for the honor by parents, athletes and fellow teachers.  Those nominations are then reviewed by a panel of dance experts from across the U.S. who select the candidate they feel most exemplifies the qualities stated above.   “Letters in support of Tanya Robinson poured into the DX office” stated DX President Lisa Saline.  One parent wrote “Achieving a personal best from each individual child is Tanya’s ultimate goal, assuring each student is learning and growing at their respective pace.”  Another parent raves “she never gives the kids more than they can handle but pushes them beyond what they think they are capable of.” Tanya has been teaching dance and life skills at the Power Of Dance for 10 years.  She has helped make the POD into more than just an amazing place to learn dance but an incredible place to grow.

Congratulations Tanya and the Power Of Dance!  The top 5 Coach of the Year finalists included coaches from South Dakota, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Mexico.
