BodyWorks & Laser Clinic is pleased to announce a new addition. Taylor Weise has joined the team as a Wellness Technician and Certified Stretch & Flexibility Instructor. Born and raised in Wausau, WI, Taylor earned her Associates Degree at MATC becoming a Health Unit Coordinator. She moved to Green Bay, WI to continue her education at NWTC where she is completing an additional Associates Degree in Health and Wellness Promotion.
Her educational background includes kinesiology, exercise physiology, wellness coaching, and chronic disease. Taylor is certified as a Stretch & Flexibility Instructor and is ACE and AFAA approved.
In addition to providing wellness care through CryoTherapy, Infrared Therapy and Compression Therapy, Taylor will also be consulting with patients to assess proper and appropriate soft-tissue re-education to improve tissue flexibility and integrity. For the month of August, each individual customized session will include a personalized evaluation, demonstration, printed stretch illustration for home use, and complimentary infrared session for stretching application. A study published by Auburn University concluded the same stretching routine while in an infrared sauna versus in a conventional environment yields superior acute changes in flexibility. Completing the stretch routine while exposed to the infrared sauna elicits higher/greater/more pronounced changes in acute flexibility in the hip/hamstrings and low back. Benefits to the increased range of motion include joint mobility, less friction in the joints, enabling joint function to diminish stiffness and joint relaxation.
“We have found stretch instruction to be a very important offering at BWLC, as many of our patients that struggle with soft tissue/muscle restriction are unsure of how to successfully and safely stretch a targeted area. Taylor’s bright, caring, and kind personality is such a joy to work with! We are thrilled to have her here to provide this essential piece of the wellness puzzle!”, stated Melanie Styczynski, Clinic Director.
Taylor is passionate about motivating others to make healthy choices, helping individuals meet their wellness goals, as well as assisting and providing recommendations to live a pain free life. “I’m excited to join the BWLC team and educate patients on the importance of stretching and flexibility. Mobility is essential to maintaining good health. Proper stretching increases flexibility, maintains range of motion in our joints, and allows muscles to remain loose and unrestricted. Routine stretching helps everyday mobility and prevents joint pain, strains and muscle damage”, stated Taylor Weise.
Taylor enjoys spending her free time staying active with family and friends outdoors, going to Brewer games, downhill skiing, and hiking.
