The Howard Suamico School District is thrilled to announce that Bay Port band teacher Ashley Siegrist has been nominated for the Manilow Music Teacher Award. The Manilow Music Teacher Award recognizes an outstanding music teacher who helps to bring music to life for their students. Manilow Music Teacher Award recipients receive $10,000 — a $5,000 Vote for Ashley Siegrist to win the Manilow Music Teacher Award

Kim’s Tae Kwon Do Center, Inc. recently attended the Oshkosh United Martial Arts Tournament. Twenty of their students competed in Forms, Board Breaking and Free Sparring. Jude Tommarello took home Grand Champion for under black belt boys divisions. Jude had the most combined points from all three competitions. Master Mike Champeau placed First in Executive Kim’s Tae Kwon Do competes in local tournament

Vandervest Harley-Davidson will be hosting the Jerry Parin’s Cruise For Cancer event on Sunday, June 9th. As a kickoff to the event, $174,000 from last year’s event was donated to nine local organizations — HSHS St. Vincent/St. Mary’s Foundation, Bellin Health Foundation, Unity Hospice, HSHS St. Vincent’s Child Life, Bellin Child Life, Colton’s Cure, Ovarian Jerry Parin’s Cruise For Cancer donates $174,000 to local organizations

While Duck Creek Quarry Park is open to the public for walking, non-motorized boating, paddle boarding, catch-and-release fishing, and dog swimming, the Duck Creek Quarry Beach will only be open to Howard residents, their guests, and non-residents who have wristbands. Wristband distribution for the 2024 swim season will begin Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Quarry wristband distribution begins May 15th at Howard Public Works
