The Howard Fire Department will host its Community Safety Day 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. September 16th at Meadowbrook Park in Howard. The free, family friendly event will feature fire and community safety demonstrations, fire trucks, a myTeam Triumph presentation station, a bouncy house, and pizza and beverages for sale.
The Packerland Sunrise Rotary Club of Howard will add to the fun by hosting its second annual “Slice of the Bay” fundraiser. The fierce competition between local pizza restaurants for the coveted “Slice of the Bay” title features an award for best overall pizza selected by a panel of celebrity judges that will include Pete Petoniak and Phil De Castro from Fox 11, Howard Fire Chief Don Phillips and Howard Village President Burt McIntyre. There also will be bucket raffles and a silent auction.
Proceeds will benefit myTeam Triumph, the Howard Fire Department, and the Packerland Sunrise Rotary Foundation’s international water project in Kenya. For more information about the event, contact Stephanie Cavadeas at (920) 664-1048. Inquiries regarding sponsorship or raffle donations may be directed to Mike Ruby at (920) 434-7310.
