The Village of Howard has secured its second naming rights donation for the Howard Commons public space. The Roger and Star Kimps Family Foundation has agreed to donate $1 million to support the project. UScellular and the Green Bay Packers announced the winner of a $20,000 technology makeover through the inaugural Leap for Learning program. The Oconto Unified School District was awarded the prize during a celebration on December 13. The Howard-Suamico Lions have participated with another accessibility ramp project. This project located in Bellevue was a collaborative effort with the Howard-Suamico Lions building the ramp and then receiving help with the installation from Bellevue Lions and an Ashwaubenon Lions member.

The Howard-Suamico School District and the Howard Suamico Business and Professional Association collaborated to host a Career Fair for Bay Port High School students on November 3, 2022. The goal of the Career Fair is to provide opportunities for students to network with local employers to learn about careers, qualifications, education/training, job opportunities, and the HSSD and HSBPA host Career Fair

At a weekly Howard-Suamico Optimist lunch meeting at 1951 West, the Howard-Suamico Optimist Club presented a check in the amount of $750.00 to Student and Family Engagement Coordinator, Kourtney Feldhausen to use for The Giving Tree — student assistance program & food pantry in the Howard-Suamico School District. This donation is being used to provide Howard-Suamico Optimists make donation to The Giving Tree

The 2022 “Hit the Trails” 5K Run 3K Walk organized by the Howard Suamico Optimist Club, was held this past September. The aim of this event was to raise money for NEW Zoo youth programs. On November 8, 2022, a check in the amount of $1,000 was presented to interim Zoo Director, Carmen Murach. Carmen Optimists support the NEW Zoo
